Cable Engineering

  • Cable Engineering Services is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of the University telecommunications cable systems and network infrastructure. Cable Engineering performs all the physical Moves, Adds, and Changes (MACs) to the telecommunication systems as well as providing cabling services and design assistance to campus units.

Customer Service

  • The Customer Service department is the primary contact point for people inquiring about a wide variety of telecommunication services. Our customers consist of members of the University community as well as people needing to communicate with faculty, staff or students on campus.

Systems Office

  • The Systems Office can answer questions about your monthly telecommunications bill and long distance services. We also can provide you with information about establishing an "800" number on campus.

Technical Services

  • Technical Services oversees all technical operations associated with the Aastra-Ericsson/UMASS telecommunications system at the UMASS-Amherst campus.

Voice Processing Services

  • The Voice Processing Services Office is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the University's OCTEL Voice Processing System, which serves approximately 15,000 campus users. This office is also the primary point of contact for voice mail and cellular phone inquiries.
