If an Employee Leaves Umass
If an employee leaves a department or the University, it is important that their authorization code, calling card and/or voice mail box are deactivated.
Please report any listing changes on the listing change form so that we can update names and phone numbers in our database.
Please note, the employee Authorization Code number cannot be transferred
from one department to another. When a new employee is hired, you can request an authorization code, calling
card and/or voice mail box for him/her.
Note: About Voice Mail
It is the same expense to change the name on a voice mail box as it
is to install a new box. We recommend installing a new box, because a tutorial
is available with it. This would make it easier for a new employee to learn
how to use voice mail.
Human Resources sends the Telecommunication's Systems Office a listing of
employees who have had a "Hire", "Transferred",
or "Terminated" status.
Note: To Expedite the Process:
When an employee leaves the university, please complete the appropriate forms immediately.
These forms include: Authorization Code Deactivation Form, Calling Card Deactivation Form, and/or the
Voice Mail Request/Delete Form and return them to our office.
