New UMass Caller ID

Outbound calls from all campus telephones at the University of Massachusetts Amherst will have the 545-0111 phone number identification attached to them as of Oct. 1.

This is being done so that outbound calls to phone numbers which block unidentified calls using a caller protection package (e.g., Caller ID) can be completed. The new system maintains a caller's confidentiality, but the call will be identified as coming from the main University switchboard.
