Fast Busy Signal Problem Fixed
[Creation Date: 03-Jun-02]
The fast busy signal problem that some UMass telephone users experienced this morning has been repaired.
Callers experienced a fast busy signal while trying to dial off-campus numbers from the university. Off-campus callers dialing into the university experienced the same problem.
The problem was caused when an early morning power outage tripped a Verizon circuit breaker which connects UMass to off-campus areas.
The equipment was reset and is now functioning normally, said Telecom Director Randy Sailer.
