Incoming Collect and Third Party Calls

Incoming collect and third-party calls billed to a university telephone number are not permitted.

An incoming collect call is one in which a caller asks an off-campus operator to place a call to your residential telephone and to charge the call to your number. The off-campus operator (or automated operator) will call your room and ask if you will accept the charges. This type of call is not permitted, and is blocked.

A third-party call is one in which a caller asks an off-campus operator (or automated operator) to place a call to one number and to bill the call to another number. Making a call from a friend's room and asking an off-campus operator to bill the charges to your residential telephone number is a third-party call. This type of call is not permitted.
